What do reparations produce?
A great deal has been written about what reparations for atrocity crimes ought to be. Remarkably little is known about what they produce — in people's lives, in their communities, and in their sense of achieving justice.

It is building the first open database of evidence on the consequences of reparations worldwide, and follows three landmark cases in depth: reparations ordered by the International Criminal Court in the Democratic Republic of Congo, the 2013 settlement with Mau Mau veterans in Kenya, and the Inter-American Court's ruling in Lhaka Honhat v Argentina.
